Os zumbis desejam dominar uma cidade de Wisconsin e começam a atacar as pessoas. Ana (Sarah Polley) é uma jovem enfermeira, que consegue escapar do ataque deles e é ajudada pelo policial Kenneth (Ving Rhames). Juntos eles encontram abrigo em um shopping center, onde outros sobreviventes estão escondidos. Lá os zumbis não conseguem entrar e eles conseguem ter uma vida razoavelmente normal. Mas a situação piora quando começa a faltar energia e comida, o que faz com que eles tenham que sair do abrigo para conseguir sobreviver.

The zombies want to master a Wisconsin town and start attacking people. Ana (Sarah Polley) is a young nurse who manages to escape from their attack and is helped by police Kenneth (Ving Rhames). Together they find shelter in a shopping center where other survivors are hiding. There zombies can not get in and they can have a fairly normal life. But things get worse when the missing energy and food, which means they have to leave the shelter to survive.
