here is a video tutorial of how to install the most current garmin maps onto your device.

i use an older handheld model, and the file size was right at the limit of my 2gb sd card. i'm guessing that the new models have much more storage space.

here we've extracted each map and installed in mapsource as a map set. i did find the text tutorial online. now you can load individual maps with software available online.

it took some trial and error, so I would think, others might have the same problems. it's quite simple if you have the latest software.

i'm using mapsource 6.16.3. you will need a working version.
