Based Food typically aims at the advances made by the allied fields of microbiology, biotechnology, environmental science, pedology, health science, polymer science, material science, nano technology, and hazardous waste management. The main purpose of this book is to give a brief introduction on the terrestrial MPs and NPs and their effects mainly on terrestrial plants, which indirectly affect the human population through trophic transfer, and how bioremediation can be used to avoid soil contamination due to MPs and NPs. Earlier, terrestrial MPs and NPs have received little attention, but currently, micro plastics are regarded as emerging pollutants, and as a result, microplastic research has developed at an exponential rate in the previous decade. The effects of MPs and NPs on terrestrial plants and aquatic macrophytes are being reviewed nowadays, with a particular emphasis on adsorption, uptake, and toxicological effects. Plants and aquatic macrophytes are at the base of food webs and constitute an important part of human nutrition
