PLOT:

Teamed with a relentlessly cheerful producer (MacDowell) and a smart-aleck cameraman (Elliott), TV weatherman Phil Connors (Murray) is sent to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to cover the annual Groundhog Day festivities.
