Elizabeth Sloane (Jessica Chastain) is one of the most powerful lobbyists in the United States known for using a range of illegal strategies to achieve her goals. One day, it is approached to support the most powerful bench of the American Congress: the pro-gun senators. Contrary to the idea, she resigns and moves to the opposite side, with the intention of achieving stricter laws for carrying weapons. Sloane begins to suffer a series of personal and professional threats, and begins to question its limits within this profession.
