A band from Belfast, Northern Ireland. Formed in 1969 as a trio, “The Metod,” consisting of Dave Lewis (guitar/keyboards/vocals), Nigel Smith (bass/vocals), and Gordon Barton (drums). They signed a contract with “CBS Records,” moved to London, and released their first album, “Love And Poetry” (1969), under the name “Andwella’s Dream.” The band’s leader was guitarist, pianist, and singer Dave Lewis. After a successful debut, the band shortened its name to “Andwella,” moved to “Reflection Records,” and invited a fourth member, keyboardist Dave McDougall. The band’s second album, “World’s End,” released in 1970, also consisted entirely of compositions written by Dave Lewis. The sound no longer had the psychedelia of the bygone 60s era, but now had distinct progressive notes of the 70s.
