The future star of Brazilian pop music was inspired to pursue musical feats by his father, a surgeon who was an excellent acoustic guitar player - at the age of six, Guilherme Arantes had already mastered the cavaquinho, mandolin and piano. In 1975, after his youthful experiences as part of the prog-rock group Moto Perpétuo, the musician began performing solo with dreamy, romantic songs of his own composition.
