The aim of this book is to build the capacity of applying statistical methods and tools in the professional practice of an engineer. Therefore, the focus is on understanding and the development of relevant skills. This book covers a selection of statistical methods and tools. Their theoretical description is provided together with examples of application in solving engineering problems. When advantageous, hints for using statistical software are given. From the scientific point of view, the presented methods and tools are elements of more advanced methodologies in engineering statistics which are subject to continuous development.
