Dark cRPG from the authors of Titan Quest. The game belongs to the hack-n-slash category, so the fun is mainly about murdering hordes of monsters. The strong point of this production is the exceptionally extensive hero development system. There are five character classes to choose from, and each has several unique skill trees. An additional attraction is the ability to modify items and even create new ones.
Grim Dawn on the PC Windows platform is a dark combination of an action game with cRPG elements, created by the Crate Entertainment studio, which includes Iron Lore veterans who previously worked on Titan Quest set in ancient realities.
The plot of Grim Dawn throws the player into the middle of the dark, war-torn world of Cairn. This once proud empire was brought to ruin as a result of the struggle between two powerful forces. Although each of them has different goals, the competition between them turned out to be deadly for the human species, which was one step closer to extinction. The basis of the conflict between the invaders was the fight for human bodies, which for one of the sides constitute resources that allow them to grow stronger. The second one, in order to prevent this from happening, exterminates the human race, depriving its enemies of the opportunity to benefit from the bodies of the inhabitants of Cairn.
The war between the invaders turned out to be disastrous for the entire land. Fierce competition has distorted the structure of reality, bringing terrifying monsters to life. Those who survived the pogrom managed to create small enclaves scattered all over the world. Moreover, a few of the survivors possessed extraordinary abilities, which give hope that people, with the help of a brave hero, will be able to organize a resistance movement and save what is left of old Cairn.
Graphically, Grim Dawn for Windows PC looks similar to its predecessor because it uses the improved Iron Lore engine, the same one used to create Titan Quest. In addition to the developed single-player storyline, the game also offers a multiplayer mode, in which the emphasis is on cooperative gameplay.
