The origins of Orange Colored Sky go back to 1962, when Larry Younger formed The Fabulous Epics in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Epics soon moved to New York City and became the house band at the world famous Peppermint Lounge. Years later, Tom Hanks called them The Wonders and told their story in his film That Thing You Do. In 1968, the group moved to Southern California, signed a deal with Universal, and changed their name to Orange Colored Sky. They were very active in Los Angeles, appearing in the comedy The Love God with Don Knotts, in TV commercials with Petula Clark, on the Steve Allen Show, and at all the popular clubs. They soon became regulars at the Flamingo, Harrah’s, and other major venues in Las Vegas, Reno, and Lake Tahoe. Sky also toured with Frank Sinatra and worked on Ronald Reagan's campaign for reelection as governor of California. By 1980, many of the music venues had been replaced by discos and the group disbanded. The group reunited in the early 1990s, and now includes frontman Michael Chanslor (a keyboardist-vocalist-arranger who had long worked with Susan Anton), bassist-vocalist Larry Parker, drummer Dennis Edwards (formerly with Eric Burdon and Eddie Money), and guitarist-vocalist Tom Bethke. Founding member Larry Younger continues to make guest appearances
