Download and Install K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. It'll come with Media Player Classic which is the recommended player.

If you got problems opening the MKV with WinAMP, right click the player>Options>Preferences>Input>Select Nullsoft Directshow Decoder>Configure> Add MKV to the extension list.

Playing with WinAMP is not recommended, 'cuz ya may not see subtitles. Also you may wanna crank the pre-amp up, 'cuz the audio is kinda low.
