South Korea, 1930s. During the Japanese occupation, young Sookee (Kim Tae-ri) is hired to work for a Japanese heiress, Hideko (Kim Min-Hee), who leads an isolated life alongside the authoritarian uncle. But Sookee holds a secret: she and a con man plan to marry the heiress, steal her fortune and lock her up in a sanitarium. All goes well with the plan, until Sookee gradually begins to understand Hideko's motivations.
