This time, Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto) and the crew of the Enterprise are in the third year of the space exploration mission scheduled to last five years. They receive a distress call that ends up linking them to the evil villain Krall (Idris Elba), an anti-Starfleet insurgent interested in an object of possession of the ship's leader. The Enterprise is attacked, and they end up on an unknown planet, where the group ends up being split into pairs.
