In 1996, two climbers groups led by Rob (Jason Clarke) and Scott (Jake Gyllenhaal) come together in an attempt to climb Mount Everest, one of the highest mountains in the world. However, a big blizzard puts everyone's life at risk. With his pregnant wife (Keira Knightley), Rob is less adventurous with respect to Scott, as worrying about the safety of your team members.
