1947. The famous detective Sherlock Holmes (Ian McKellen) is 93 years old, retired, living in a remote house on the coast with his housekeeper Mrs. Munro (Laura Linney) and her son, little Roger (Milo Parker). Dealing with the deterioration of his mind because of age, he is still obsessed with a case that never managed to decipher. Without the company of his faithful sidekick Dr. Watson, Sherlock trying to unravel this ultimate mystery.
