Ten years after the conquest of liberty, Caesar (Andy Serkis) and the other monkeys live alone in the woods near San Francisco. There they developed their own community based on mutual support, while the human face one of the biggest epidemics of all time, caused by a virus created in a laboratory. Without electricity, a group of survivors plan to invade the forest and reactivate the plant installed there. Malcolm (Jason Clarke), one who knows apes, tries to act peacefully and prevent the clash to happen.
