Tobey è un meccanico appassionato di auto e corse. Con la sua squadra composta da amici nella sua officina costruisce auto da corsa. Bravo al volante Tobey vince parecchie gare per guadagnare soldi e riuscire a pagare il mutuo della officina lasciatagli dal padre. Tutto cambia però quando Dino, un pilota vero e proprio, propone a Tobey di finire la costruzione di una Ford Mustang rimasta incompleta per la morte di Carroll Shelby, e promettendogli un quarto della cifra che guadagnerà dalla vendita della Mustang......
