The first band of Swiss keyboardist Patrick Moraz. He was born on July 24, 1948. He graduated from the Conservatory in Lausanne. In 1968, he founded the band Mainhorse with Peter Lockett (guitar, violin, vocals), Bryson Graham (drums) and Jean Ristori (bass guitar, cello, vocals). From 1969 to 1971, the band toured extensively in England, Western Europe and the Middle East. The album, which received high marks among fans of progressive music, was not a commercial success, and the band broke up. Graham left for Spooky Tooth. Moraz and Ristori toured Japan and the Far East with a Brazilian ballet for most of 1972. Moraz subsequently went on to successful work in the bands Refugee (ex- Nice), Yes and The Moody Blues, as well as releasing numerous solo works. The 1984 album Time Code featured his former Mainhorse bandmates, and is therefore erroneously listed as the band's second album in some discographies
